Hi my name is Jace Jensen

When I was 18 months old, I burned my hand, which required a skin graft and many hours at University of Utah Burn Center. I do not remember it, but growing up, I heard stories about the amazing doctors and nurses and our families experience there. So when I was looking for my eagle project, I spent about a year looking and trying to decide. I wanted to do more than just build some bookcases, paint some curbs, or plant trees. One thing lead to another, and I knew what I needed to do. I wanted to give back to those who had given so much to me and my family. So I am holding a benefit concert at my high school where I am currently a sophomore. All proceeds will go to the help me purchase items they need for the new expansion of the U of U Burn Center. This expansion will allow for the burn unit to treat twice as many patients. As overwhelming as this project is, I hope to get the support we need to make it a success. My burns were not near as severe as so many others and I hope to make a small difference in more burn victims lives. Thank you so much for your support

Thank You

Just wanted to update the blog.  Thank you all that came to the concert on Wednesday night.  We had a great concert that night, thanks to Jon Schmidt.  We raised several thousand dollars.

DOORS OPEN AT 6:15

The concert is almost here.  Just a reminder that doors will open at 6:15, and it is general seating.  We are not sold out, so spread the word and hopefully we can fill every seat.  Thanks again for all of the support - it has been amazing.  If you pay at the door, cash is the easiest, but checks and credit cards will be accepted.  It will be a great concert.  See you there!
I just wanted to say thank you to KUTV and their Pay It Forward program for the interview and the generous donation.  Enjoy!

Opening Act

I am pleased to say that Eric Thayne will be opening for Jon Schmidt that night. Check out his Facebook page, he is also an amazing pianist. See you all at the show!

More Kindness

Thank you all that have donated or that have bought tickets.  A big thank you to A-Plus Benefits for donating the event insurance.  It was a very generous donation and now that money will go straight to the those in need at the Burn Center.

Another person who has helped with the cost is Skip Livingston from American Fork, for being willing to tune the piano at no cost.

It is all the people who have been donating costs, that are helping make this possible.  Thanks again.
5 months after my burn.  Still wearing my compression glove (look closely at the hand holding Mickey Mouse).  I was still doing physical therapy, with consistent visits  to the Burn Center.   The more I have been working on this project, I have realized that I was very lucky for being so close to the Burn Center and for having such a small burn to my hand.  Thank you for all those who have donated or bought tickets for the concert.

Thank You!!!

I owe a few people a big thanks, first of all, Stephanie Nielson, We have had a lot of hits, ticket sales and donations because she posted about my project. If you have not heard her story, click here. She is amazing.
